Friday 15th October is wear it purple day. With the recent news of many young GLBTI people taking their lives, wear it purple day is a way to show support for these young people, so that others struggling can see how many people support, accept and love them.</span></div><div style="color: purple;"><br /></div><div style="color: purple;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">It is an absolute tragedy that young people feel that they can no longer live with themselves, simply because they are not heterosexual. Homosexuality is not a choice. It is a natural occurance that has been documented across the animal kingdom. However, there are still those with archaic views preaching hate and fear. Those people use anything to justify their veiws, especially religious texts. They really need to stop and think about the impact this has. Surely if someone truly believes in a loving God, they would realise they should be accepting of all people. I am not here to debate religion or whether God exists, but simply to point out that no matter what our beliefs, the things we say or do have real impacts.</span></div><div style="color: purple;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> </span></div><div style="color: purple;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">It disgusts me that people would rather see people suffer than to rethink their biggotted beliefs.</span></div><div style="color: purple;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><br /></span></div><div style="color: purple;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Furthermore, by failing to give the GBLTI community equal rights, such as the right to marry, the Goverment is reinforcing the erroneous belief that homosexuality is wrong. This impacts GLBTI youth in a way that makes them feel even more isolated and outcast. The Government needs to wake up to themselves and realise that they are responsible for ALL citezens rights, and change these laws.</span></div><div style="color: purple;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><br /></span></div><div style="color: purple;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I would love to go into more depth, but these issues upset me too much at the moment. It breaks my heart to see people taking their lives before they can discover how many loving, supporting people there are out there.
